Vietnam’s three sites ranked in the top 10 summer getaways in Asia

According to Channel News Asia, Asia’s top 10 Summer getaways include Sa Pa, Ba Na Hills, and Dalat. These destinations are highlighted for their temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, even during the hottest months, which makes them ideal havens for Summer tourists. Sa Pa offers a rich local cultural experience, while Dalat boasts stunning French architecture and urban design. Ba Na Hills stands out with its extensive array of entertainment services.

According to recent data, young Vietnamese travelers typically spend an average of U$1,261 per trip.

According to a study conducted by Klook, an e-commerce platform for travel and experiences, the average Vietnamese tourist aged 20 to 40 spends VND30 million ($1,261) on a trip, which is double their monthly salary. The study surveyed nearly 4,000 individuals in 12 countries over the past six months, with a specific focus on the Gen Z and Millennial demographics. The findings indicate that the travel expenditures of these two groups are anticipated to rise in the latter half of 2023.

Nearly $33.6 Million in Non-Profit Funding for Vietnamese Scientists

In the span of five years, the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VINIF) has dedicated significant resources to empower close to 2,500 Vietnamese scientists, amounting to an impressive investment of nearly VND800 billion ($33.6 million). Throughout this period, VINIF has generously sponsored over 100 projects encompassing the realms of science, technology, culture, and history. Furthermore, VINIF has awarded a substantial total of 1,200 scholarships, furthering its commitment to supporting the academic endeavors of individuals.

Thanks to the support of VINIF, we have achieved remarkable results. Our work has resulted in the publication of thousands of articles in prestigious international journals and the development of nearly 400 products. We are proud to have obtained over 70 inventions and patents. Furthermore, through our efforts, we have successfully established nearly 20 start-ups and spin-offs with a focus on commercializing intellectual property rights.

Vietnam looks to strengthen bilateral relations with Egypt

Vietnam is looking forward to engaging in comprehensive trade discussions and solidifying agreements with Egypt soon, as expressed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on July 26. He emphasized the unwavering commitment of the Vietnamese Government to actively seek and highly regard further collaboration with Egypt across diverse industries. The Deputy Prime Minister urged both nations to foster the opening of their domestic markets, thereby boosting bilateral trade. Additionally, he called for increased cooperation in the production and trade of halal products, as well as the provision of favorable conditions for private investors.

Vietnam is taking steps to train workers to meet the demand for labor in Greece.

On July 26, the Department of Overseas Labor has given approval to three companies to deploy a group of 150 Vietnamese workers to Greece for a two-year engagement in the agricultural industry. These workers will be entitled to a basic monthly salary of 803 euros (equivalent to US$892.7). Additionally, as per the agreement, the three companies have been instructed to facilitate a complimentary English language training program for the workers, covering both tuition and accommodation expenses. The training is anticipated to span until September 2023.

Greece is currently facing a significant labor shortage across multiple industries such as agriculture, fishing, construction, garment, hospitality, and domestic services. As a result, an increasing number of Asian individuals, specifically Vietnamese workers, have chosen to work in Greece. These workers typically earn an average monthly wage between 700 and 800 euros (equivalent to US$778-889).

The city of Ho Chi Minh City has implemented new regulations on the use of temporary sidewalks. This includes charging fees for businesses and vendors who utilize these spaces. The goal of these regulations is to improve the overall order and cleanliness of the city’s sidewalks. By implementing these fees, the city hopes to encourage businesses to maintain the cleanliness of their designated sidewalk areas and discourage overcrowding. This initiative is an important step towards creating a more organized and pedestrian-friendly environment for residents and visitors alike.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has recently implemented a new regulation regarding the management and temporary use of streets and sidewalks. Effective as of September 1, this regulation states that organizations and individuals who have been granted the privilege of temporarily using roads and sidewalks must comply with a set fee structure. Furthermore, they must also prioritize ensuring the maintenance of traffic order and safety, following the plan approved by the management agency.
