HO CHI MINH CITY – The Saigon High-Tech Park and Intel Products Vietnam (IPV) hosted a strategic summit on April 1, 2025, with the aim of fostering cooperation and developing Vietnam’s semiconductor and high-tech supply chains.

This event brought together leading domestic and international semiconductor component suppliers, as well as numerous manufacturers in the industry, creating a platform for collaboration and innovation.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Vo Van Hoan, emphasized the city’s appeal as an investment destination for these domains. He highlighted the city’s comprehensive ecosystem for emerging industries, supported by a talented workforce and a thriving semiconductor business community.

Hoan assured the business community of their support, stating that the forum served as a vital bridge for businesses and investors to connect, share ideas, and seek opportunities. This, in turn, would promote the development and competitiveness of the city’s burgeoning semiconductor industry.

Susan Burns, US Consul General in the city, noted that cooperation in semiconductors and high technology has been a standout feature of Vietnam-US relations. With over 40 suppliers in attendance, the event demonstrated Intel and the US’s commitment to building a robust local semiconductor supply chain. It also showcased how effective collaboration between the government and the private sector can drive domestic supply chains and support Vietnam’s high-tech aspirations.

Intel’s Chief Global Operations Officer, Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran, affirmed Intel’s dedication to fostering the growth of Vietnam’s semiconductor supply chain ecosystem. He acknowledged and appreciated the Vietnamese government’s efforts in developing infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for the industry’s expansion. Since its establishment in Vietnam in 2006, Intel has invested in and cultivated a network of local suppliers, now comprising 600 partners.

Throughout the forum, Intel focused on creating new opportunities for suppliers, enhancing human resources, and promoting innovation to strengthen Vietnam’s semiconductor ecosystem. This month, Intel’s factory in Vietnam will reach a significant milestone of shipping 4 billion products, underscoring the essential role of its assembly and testing facility in the country in Intel’s global operations.
