The Power of Collaboration: *Economy & Urban* and *Quang Tri* Newspapers Unite for July’s Charity Initiative

THE HANOI TIMES — The Kinh te & Do Thi (Economic & Urban) Newspaper, in collaboration with the Quang Tri Newspaper, proudly presented the July Charity Program 2025 in Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province, on May 7. The event was a joint initiative with the participation of Le Hoang Anh, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Kinh te & Do Thi Newspaper, along with Nguyen Ty and Nguyen Chi Linh, Deputy Editors-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, and Ta Viet Anh, Chairman of the Foundation for Aiding Social Protection Program Foundation in Vietnam (AFV). The program was also graciously supported by various sponsors.

Le Hoang Anh shared that the July Charity Program holds a special significance as it was initiated by Ta Viet Anh, former Editor-in-Chief of Kinh te & Do Thi Newspaper and a veteran of the Quang Tri battlefield. Since its launch in 2012, the program has been a collaborative effort between the two newspapers and has grown into an annual tradition that embodies their shared humanitarian values.

Over the past 13 years, the program has distributed thousands of gifts to welfare families, veterans, and disadvantaged students in Quang Tri. It has served as a bridge connecting media outlets, businesses, organizations, and individuals, allowing them to express their heartfelt gratitude and give back to this land of rich revolutionary history.

This year, the July Charity Program is focused on supporting underprivileged students in Gio Linh and Trieu Phong districts. A total of 150 gift packages will be distributed, along with two computers for exceptional students facing immense challenges. Additionally, 200 new shirts will be provided to students at Cua Viet Primary School in Gio Linh District, offering a sense of dignity and pride.

One of the recipients, Truong Minh Thi, a 6th-grade student at Trieu Do Primary and Secondary School in Trieu Phong District, shared her emotions: “My mother is unwell and unable to work, and my brother has a congenital disability. This generous gift from the newspapers has given me hope and encouragement to continue my studies and strive for a better future.”

Nguyen Van Nghe, Director of the Gio Linh District Education and Training Division, expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the two newspapers and their sponsors. He highlighted that the initiative goes beyond material support, offering invaluable encouragement for students to persevere through challenges and continue their educational journey. Nghe also shared his hope that the newspapers and their partners will continue their noble efforts, empowering underprivileged students to pursue their dreams through education.
